Highland

Inchbae is a quiet Highland village where the landscape opens up to moorland and forest. River Black Water Holiday Lets - Summerhouse sits here as a self-contained base for two people seeking a slower pace. The whole property is yours: a single bedroom with a kingsize bed, a shower room, and an open-plan living space that combines lounge and kitchen in one bright room. Ground-floor layout means no stairs. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all covered, and there is parking for one car on site.
The kitchen has what you need to cook properly—electric oven, hob, microwave and fridge—alongside a coffee machine for mornings. The lounge has a smart TV for the evenings. Beyond the door is a patio with garden furniture and a sitting-out area that opens onto the grounds. This is where you'll feel the Highland air and catch whatever daylight the season offers. The property operates on a natural water supply via well. Smoking is not permitted.
Ben Wyvis is within reach for hillwalking; the Black Water itself invites scenic walks and fishing. Cycling and forest trails dot the surrounding countryside. Dingwall, a short drive away, has shops and places to eat if you need them. For those wanting to slip away from routines rather than fill days with activities, the location works well.

Lovely couple serving nice food, homely but with a touch of wild in the surroundings. We were watching a red kite flying above with house martins closer on the river before eating. As it was my birthday on our visit I was presented with a chocolate birthday cake. Just a lovely way to round off the day.

The cabins are a little dated, but very comfortable and well furnished. The staff are welcoming and the pub is very old school. The building has a lot of history. Stay there if you're passing through.

I visited the river black water inn for an evening meal while staying at a nearby Airbnb. My liver and bacon with onion gravy and mash was excellent , as was the sticky toffee pudding to follow. Very friendly hosts. Would definitely visit again when next in the area.
