Taigh Mhairi

A quarter-mile from Portree's centre, this single-storey cottage sits on a quiet lane with woodland rising behind and a river running below. The enclosed garden has space to sit outside, and there's parking for three cars. Inside, everything is on one floor: a living and dining room with an open fire, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, two bedrooms (one double, one with twin singles), and a shower room. One dog is welcome at no extra cost.

The essentials are covered—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included, plus initial fuel for the wood burner. If you're travelling with a small child, a cot and highchair are available. Portree itself has pubs, restaurants and shops within easy reach, and from here you can explore the northern stretches of Skye, including walks to Storr and Trotternish. The Gleaner is nearby for supplies and provisions.
