The Barn

The Northern Highlands around Kildary offer accessible countryside within reach of Inverness and the far north. The Barn is a conversion of a historic stone building set across 2 acres of woodland garden, with its own patio and parking. The owners live on site and maintain the grounds as a B&B operation, so you have privacy as a self-catering guest but within an established rural setting.

Ground floor is one large open-plan space with original oak beams, high ceilings and deep-silled windows, anchored by a wood burner. A kitchen area at one end has electric cooking, a dishwasher and washing machine. The first-floor mezzanine is a second living room with a sofa bed that converts to a double, so the property sleeps four across a kingsize bedroom downstairs and the sofa bed up. One shower room and a separate toilet cover the bathrooms. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are included, as are the initial logs for the burner.

Tain is 5 miles away, the royal burgh with shops and pubs. You can walk directly from the property into the surrounding woodland and countryside. One dog is welcome at no extra cost. No smoking indoors.
