The Cottage
Highland
Families and small groups will find The Cottage works well as a self-contained base. It sleeps four across three bedrooms—one double and two singles—with a bathroom and separate toilet on the ground floor. The layout keeps everything on one level, and there's a travel cot and highchair available if needed. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included.
The kitchen is equipped for cooking proper meals: electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and all the usual appliances. The living room has a television and DVD player, and from here the main draw becomes apparent—unobstructed views across Poolewe Bay. Outside, an enclosed lawned garden with patio and garden furniture provides a private space to sit, though the garden does contain an unprotected five-foot drop and eight steps, so supervision matters if young children are present. Two cars can park on site. The property is non-smoking.
Poolewe village is within walking distance and has restaurants, cafés, shops, a pub and swimming pool. The west coast here is known for wildlife—otters, seals, whales and birdlife appear regularly—and Inverewe's subtropical gardens are a short drive away. The surrounding area holds beaches, hills and lochs for exploring.
