Torr Caladh

Torr Caladh is a detached, single-storey cottage standing in the village of Glenfinnan, in the heart of the Highlands. The building sits on a shared driveway and enjoys seclusion despite being within a short walk of the local pub, the shores of Glen Shiel, and the Glenfinnan Viaduct. All three bedrooms and the bathroom are on the ground floor, reached by four steps to the entrance, making the layout straightforward for families and those with mobility considerations. The main bedroom has a kingsize bed, the second a double, and the third two singles; one bathroom serves the property. A travel cot and highchair are available.

The kitchen is equipped for self-catering, with electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. An open fire warms the living room, and initial logs are included. Electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are provided. Outside, a large enclosed garden has sitting-out furniture, and there is parking for two cars on site.

The location suits anyone wanting to base themselves for exploring the wider area. The Glenfinnan Station Museum is a short walk away, as is the West Coast mainline, noted for its scenic route. The National Trust Scotland Visitor Centre and Glenfinnan Monument, which offers views across Loch Shiel, are nearby; boat trips from the loch offer chances to see golden eagles and red deer. Loch fishing is available to guests. Fort William lies a short drive south, with Neptune's Staircase on the Caledonian Canal accessible from there. Westwards, the white sands of Morar and the Arisaig coastline are within reach, and ferries run from Mallaig to Skye, the Small Isles and Knoydart. The village pub and restaurant are a quarter mile away; the nearest shop is six miles distant. No smoking throughout the property.
