About Stanley Arms

Just 0.66 miles from Newry Beach, the Stanley Arms is a straightforward bed and breakfast at 25 Stanley Street in Holyhead, on the Isle of Anglesey. It's a laid-back inn with a warmly decorated restaurant and bar, plus a patio for outdoor seating, giving it more of a local pub feel than a formal hotel.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and drinks available on request, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children. Free WiFi runs throughout, and guests have access to a garden and picnic area for relaxing outside. Breakfast is served on site, and the on-site restaurant and bar cover evening meals and drinks without needing to head out. Luggage storage and 24-hour reception add a bit of flexibility for arrivals and departures, and free on-site parking is provided.

The surrounding area suits an active stay, with golf, fishing, cycling and watersports all nearby, alongside further pubs, bars and restaurants for those who want to explore beyond the inn. Newry Beach is within reach for a walk along the coast, making the Stanley Arms a practical base for exploring Holyhead.

Friendly, Comfortable and Ferry-Ready. If you're looking for five-star luxury, keep driving. If you're looking for a friendly welcome, a clean room and somewhere perfectly placed for an early ferry, the Stanley Arms does the job brilliantly. The reception was warm and welcoming, the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the shower worked well, there was tea and coffee provided, and the on-site parking was a real bonus. Being so close to Holyhead port, the pub has plenty of character. The locals were in full swing, with a lively atmosphere that was almost as entertaining as the ferries themselves. By the end of the evening, it was hard to tell whether it was the pub or the Irish Sea doing the rocking! It's honest, good-value accommodation that knows exactly what it is. I'd happily stay there again before an early sailing.

Nice place, I only stopped in for a beer. The beer was good and fairly priced. Staff where nice but could of tried more. The conversation was very one sided and the bar man was more interested in looking at his laptop Its britan not Ireland so maybe this is normal??

No complaints, they are cheap and friendly. The WiFi worked, the shower was nice and hot. For the price they're good 👍 We could book them a few hours before we landed in Holyhead, they're not too far from the ferry port. So it was very handy for us. I see people give it a bad review but to be fair, for the price it's good. Don't expect gourmet for £45.

Arriving here was almost like a scene from shameless… the car park is full of litter, from dirty nappies to broken sofas, not a good first impression! And I’m sorry to say it only gets worse…. The pub inside is in need of a refurb and a right good clean, if you need the toilet it’s probably best to go outside… 😆 as they are filthy, smelly and with no locks on the doors. The staff were helpful and polite so no fault there, and the bedrooms are clean with fresh, clean bedding. We stayed here to head to the ferry the following morning, it’s very easy to get to, but if you stay at the weekend be prepared for the rave that doesn’t finish till at least 2:30am…. Tired is an understatement!
