Breakwater Country Park is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy nature. The walking trails are peaceful, the views are stunning, and it's a great spot for families or anyone looking for a quiet escape. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would happily come back again.

Set at the foot of spectacular old mine, around what's left of the mill buildings there is a nice kids playground with a good selection of equipment for ages 6+ and also some dedicated to younger children. There are two cafés, one takeaway that opens most days and one sit-in that's a bit more seasonal. You can buy food for the ducks from the takeaway cafe and there's a nice loop around a pond. Lots of nice walks down to the coastline. There's a pay and display car park with around 50 spaces. Just follow the long, single lane road all the way to the end.

A great little gem to walk the dog, kids and myself! The kids really enjoyed the kids park there which is modern with adventure equipment suitable for all ages. Even my 13yr old enjoyed. Duck pond, and smaller or longer walks. We paid £4 for three hours to park which is winter prices usually for two hours. One hour is £1.50 all year so worth getting one after another if chilling in park next to Carpark. Great to bring a picnic. The cafe/centre was closed when we went. The views are pretty spectacular as it’s right on the coast and great to learn about the history of quarrying for the longest breakwater and later a brick quarry over 125yrs ago. Now a nature reserve. Situated at the foot of Holyhead Mountain (Mynydd Twr), the park is partially within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
