About Fox’s Furrow
Just a quarter-mile from the A47 yet wrapped in a tree belt that keeps things blissfully quiet, Fox's Furrow delivers proper rural peace within easy reach of Leicester's centre. The site's beautifully designed, spotless pods come with hot tubs, while electric grass and gravel pitches suit campervans and trailer tents. Facilities live in a stylishly converted shepherd's hut – showers and toilets that visitors consistently praise for being spotlessly clean, plus a washing-up area and wifi.
The village of Houghton on the Hill is a short walk across the fields, with a couple of pubs, a shop, pharmacy and chippy all close by. National Cycle Route 63 runs about a mile away, and there's a bus stop in the village for trips into Leicester – the National Space Centre and other city attractions are roughly 20 minutes by car. Friendly, helpful staff and a well-stocked on-site shop add to the appeal, while the tree-lined setting provides both privacy and a haven for local wildlife.

We had a fantastic stay in the Ammonite Pod at Fox’s Furrow. From the moment we arrived, it felt like a peaceful escape from everyday life. The pod itself is beautifully designed (we loved the 80's vibe)—compact but incredibly well thought out, with everything you need for a comfortable and cosy stay. The attention to detail really stood out, from the stylish interior to the little touches that made it feel special. The setting is absolutely stunning, surrounded by nature and perfect for relaxing and unwinding, we found the bed extremely comfortable. Waking up to the quiet countryside and enjoying watching the pheasants walking around was a real highlight. In the evening, the atmosphere becomes even more magical—ideal for stargazing or just enjoying the calm tranquility. Everything was spotlessly clean, well-maintained, and clearly cared for. Saffron & Glenn have done an amazing job creating a unique and welcoming space, and it shows in every aspect of the experience. The hot tub/soak tub area is very spacious and the neon lighting & disco ball are a fantastic touch. The tub itself is fantastic, it takes a while to fill, but it is certainly worth the wait! We loved the psychedelic squirrel shop on site, we purchased a few items during our stay - a s'mores kit, some ice lollies and even brought home a fox 🦊 (cuddly toy) The communication from Saffron was excellent, everything we needed to know was emailed over to us before we arrived. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with a bit of charm and character, the Ammonite Pod is a perfect choice. We’d definitely come back and highly recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing break.

What a great little find for a last minute stop over in our campervan. Contacted saffron via WhatsApp who is the owner and is very friendly and helpful. This site is designed to feel like wild camping… but legal and comfortable not busy — just a proper peaceful stopover with a bit of character. There’s even an honesty shop on-site Proper hot showers + flushing toilets (not basic compost loos) All housed in a converted shepherd’s hut (nice touch) Water + waste disposal point (eco chemicals only) . Would definitely 100% stay here again. Video coming soon on YouTube @YorkshiresFinestPair

Amazing little camp site. Stayed on one of the hard standing pitches with our camper and it was perfect. Quiet and very tidy. Toilet and shower facilities were good. Will definitely stay again.
