About Lodge Farm Camping

Lodge Farm Camping is a tiny wildflower meadow hideaway in Cambridgeshire where birdsong and stargazing take centre stage. Completely off-grid yet thoughtfully equipped, the site offers solar and gas-fired showers, composting loos, and free firewood for the orchard firepit or individual pitch fires. By day, watch for sparrow hawks and red kites overhead; by night, owls patrol the skies and the absence of light pollution makes for spectacular star-gazing. Cool off under the free hosepipe on warm days, or grab a drink from the licensed bar and settle into the relaxed marquee area.

Pitches range from secluded hammock spots on the forest floor to main-field grass pitches for campervans and tents. Despite the wild setting, you're only five minutes from Sawtry village pubs and takeaways, and close to the A1M. Some visitors note the facilities can feel basic, but that's entirely the point here—this is nature-first camping done with care and a genuine love for the landscape.

What visitors say

Janine Pyke

A lovely campsite, secluded and private. I stayed for one night and loved it. I was alone with a tent and pitched in a lovely little corner of their land amongst some trees. The host is lovely, really responsive. Comes with fire pit and a really handy little metal table, along with a compost toilet. For me it was wildcamping but with permission and close enoigh to the ladies house for me to feel safe. She gave me some wood aswell. So delightful.

Visited Hamerton zoo and passed the sign for this place on the way. The busy zoo café didn't appeal so we stopped here on the way back. We received a warm welcome and a lovely peaceful lunch accompanied by bird song and a view of the fields. Ideal.
