Rookery Waters sits on a working farm where fishing, food and countryside walks converge. Hare Lodge is one of four detached properties built around a private fishing lake, positioned on the edge of Pidley with open fields and big skies in every direction. The lodge sleeps 4 across two bedrooms, each with zip-and-link single beds, and has a shower room on the ground floor. Everything is on one level: an open-plan kitchen, dining and living space with French doors onto a patio, a 28-inch Smart TV, and electric heating throughout. Wifi, bed linen, towels and electricity are all included; bring one dog if you wish, and it must be kept on a lead.
The main draw is fishing. Carp up to 28 lbs inhabit the lake, and you have your own fishing platform directly in front of the lodge. The on-site tackle shop (Tackle & Bates) stocks what you need, and the licensed café serves food. A golf course, pub and village shop are within 10 minutes' drive. Beyond the water, the surrounding area has public footpaths and bridleways to explore, and a nearby wetland conservation area where you might see lapwing, reed warblers and oystercatchers. The lodge comes with garden furniture on the patio and parking for one car on site. No smoking inside.

The best fishery in the UK. Alex and the team are excellent, whether you are looking for the latest tackle and bait or having a superb breakfast and a brew. Sensible pricing and great advice from Andy in the shop. Cannot fault it.

I can’t recommend Rookery Waters highly enough. As someone who is completely new to fishing, along with my 6-year-old son, we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The customer service was absolutely outstanding. The staff were friendly, patient, and always happy to answer our questions, no matter how basic they seemed. They took the time to give us advice, explain things clearly, and help us get the most out of our day. The fishery itself is beautifully maintained, with a great atmosphere and facilities, making it a perfect place for both experienced anglers and beginners. My son had an amazing time and the help and encouragement we received really boosted his confidence and enjoyment of fishing. The café is also fantastic, serving great food with equally friendly and efficient service. It was the perfect place to grab a bite to eat during our visit. The tackle shop is very well stocked too, with everything you could need, and the staff were more than happy to offer advice on what equipment and bait would suit us best. A huge thank you to everyone at Rookery Waters for making our visit such a positive experience. We’ll definitely be back and look forward to many more fishing trips here in the future. Highly recommended for anyone, especially families and those just starting out in fishing!

Excellent fishing break, spent 6 nights here & stayed in badger lodge, very clean & comfortable. Fished on rook lake from the lodge peg, very spacious. Had a number of carp biggest tipped the scales at 18.3lb. On site tackle shop extremely well stocked & staff very helpful. The cafe is very clean, food is delicious so definitely recommend a visit or two & very friendly staff.

4th year in a row we have stayed here.Love everything about it Lodges are extremely comfortable and well equipped.Fishing outside your front door is varied and exciting,one moment a small Rudd and the next a double figure carp.The other lakes are all very well stocked with mostly carp and f1s so use sensible tackle.Ask in the tackle shop as they all know the best baits and methods.
