Water Newton sits on the banks of the River Nene where Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire meet. Yew Tree Cottage is one of three properties on a small site here, dating back to 1805, with countryside stretching out around it and direct access to the river. The owner lives next door. One small dog is welcome.
Downstairs is an open-plan living space with a wood-burning stove, dining area and kitchen equipped for cooking properly—there's an electric cooker, dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs are two double bedrooms. The shower room is on the ground floor. Parking for two cars is on site, and you have the run of a large lawned garden with patio furniture. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are all included; initial fuel for the fire comes with the cottage, and more is available locally.
The shared outdoor swimming pool opens May to September. You can fish the river from the garden with a licence, or explore the local countryside by bike or foot. Rutland Water is nearby for water sports, and Sacrewell Farm Park—with its Shire horses and various attractions—is close by. Peterborough, Stamford and Oundle are all short drives away, as is Burghley House. The Nene Valley Steam Railway is three miles off. The property is non-smoking, and the river in the grounds is unfenced.
