Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park

whitecliff Bay holiday park, Hillway Rd, Hillway, Bembridge PO35 5PL, UK

Large holiday park with direct beach access below the Culver Cliffs

About Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park

Whitecliff Bay sits on the east coast near Bembridge, on a slope running down to its own sandy bay with the white face of Culver Cliff rising behind. It's one of the few parks on the island with a private path straight to the beach—a real asset when ferrying bodyboards and buckets downhill. Touring and camping pitches occupy terraced fields above the caravan holiday homes, with grass and hardstanding options and electric hook-ups widely available.

This is a full-facility park rather than a quiet field. There's an indoor swimming pool and a separate outdoor pool, an adventure playground, indoor soft play, crazy golf, a restaurant and bar, a shop and evening entertainment through the main season from April to October. Washblocks are heated with family rooms and disabled facilities, plus laundry and dishwashing areas. WiFi covers much of the site. Dogs are accepted on touring pitches, with rules on breeds and permitted areas.

The park suits families who want everything on site and a beach at the bottom of the hill—it's a poor fit for anyone after silence. Bembridge village, with its harbour, lifeboat station and windmill, is a couple of miles away. The Culver Down cliff walk starts almost at the gate and gives one of the best views on the island.

We recently stayed at Whitecliffe Bay. Im going to give as honest review as I can. We stayed in a value chalet/lodge. As the name suggests, it was their 'value' option. It was small and dated, but was clean. One of the spot lights in the kitchen area wasn't working, but it got fixed the same day as we reported it. So no real complaints with the accommodation. Some of the other accommodation options on site looked really good. The site itself was always clean and tidy. We spent a few nights at the Nab Bar, again it was clean and tidy. The food is what you'd expect at a site like this. It was Decent enough, but not everything on the menu was available. We did have, on a couple of occasions, an issue. A breakfast didn't come with the other meals, and similar on a different occasion, a main meal arrived late and was over cooked. On both occasions, it was resolved to our satisfaction, and in a pleasant manner. The arcade area, again clean, but looked dated and a few of the machines weren't working. The beach near the site was great and looked stunning at or just after sunrise. Unfortunately, there is a very steep path to get to and from it. If you have very young children, carrying them or pushing a pram back up was very difficult. The biggest plus point for the park, are the staff. Everyone we spoke to, asked something from, were always very friendly, helpful and always made our family feel welcome. Will we return / recommended it? Yes to both, but It might be in a few years, when the grandkids are a bit older.

Lovely location with great views, just around a 15min drive to sandown and shanklin which is lovely sea fronts. The guest service was brilliant when we arrived we had booked a 3 bed chalet, unfortunately turns out I am not a chalet girl and also didnt think the bunk beds for my kids where suitable for my little ones, this is down to my own error as it did state it could have bunk beds. But when I explained my concerns they was so understanding and was able to accommodate my request and we got moved into a lovely caravan. This was the other side of the park away from the main stuff but it was no issue, quick drive over or a little walk in nice weather. Only issue is signal isnt great or the WiFi connection if needed. But not awful. We also had a small issue with some ants and the night time security in charge of guest services was fast at responding and sorting the issue. The entertainment for the kids was brilliant and always something to do. We did spend most our time away from the site but when we was on site it was lovely, would definitely recommend. The indoor pool has a cool slide and is warm, we used this a handle full of times and my little one loved it. Definitely check them out

We stayed here a few weeks ago. We’d booked a value chalet but on arrival immediately requested to move - the chalet was not clean and not well-presented. It looks like the value chalet photos on the website have been edited. We had 2 children with us, one being a baby, and didn’t want the baby anywhere near the furniture or floor. We moved to a comfort caravan (at our expense) and were disappointed in this accommodation too. We’ve stayed in comfort caravans at other Away Resort parks and this was sub-par in comparison. The radiators had brown stains all over them, there were stains all over the sofa and the boiler frequently played up. We ate out at the Nab Bar and my 3-year-old son was given a hot dog in a mouldy bun. When we reported it they refunded his meal and felt that was adequate compensation. The outdoor pool was supposed to be open during our visit (one of the reasons we booked when we did), but it was closed the whole time we were there. Overall a really disappointing stay. The location was great but the accommodation and facilities really let it down. Won’t be visiting again.

We stayed in a Value Chalet and overall had a really positive experience. The location is excellent, making it a great base for exploring the area. The chalet itself was very reasonably priced, and we went in expecting basic accommodation. It met those expectations well — it was clean, functional, and perfectly adequate for what we paid. The beds were fairly comfortable, and all the essentials were provided. That said, the chalet could definitely do with some updating. There were very few plug sockets, which made charging devices a bit inconvenient. If we stayed again, we’d bring a multi-plug to make things easier. The on-site entertainment was a real highlight. There was plenty of free evening entertainment for families, which kept everyone engaged without needing to spend extra. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. We did have one issue with the hot water not working, but after reporting it through the app, someone came out to fix it within the hour, which was very impressive. Overall, great value for money in a fantastic location. We’d happily stay again, just a bit better prepared next time.
