Bramble Cottage

Bramble Cottage works well for couples or small families wanting a Norfolk coastal base. It's a single-storey barn conversion on the owner's land in Ingoldsthorpe, about a mile from the sea. The whole property is yours alone, with a ground-floor open plan living space combining sitting and dining areas, plus a kitchen with electric cooker and microwave for everyday cooking. Two single beds are in the bedroom; the ensuite has a bath with shower over it.

Essentials like electricity, heating, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are included. There's parking for one car on site and an enclosed patio with garden furniture. Dogs stay free and the owner provides extras for them. If you're travelling with small children, a travel cot and highchair are available on request. Smoking is not permitted indoors.

The location suits different interests well. Snettisham Beach and Heacham with its painted huts are nearby; Hunstanton's striped cliffs and wide sands lie a little further along the coast. Inland, history enthusiasts can reach King's Lynn's medieval quarter, Sandringham, Holkham and further afield to Norwich and Blickling Hall. Bird watchers have RSPB Snettisham Marshes and Welney Wetlands close by.
