Wooldale sits high in the Holme Valley, a fold of the West Yorkshire Pennines where the scenery shifts constantly with the light. Pear Tree House Annexe is a self-contained first-floor apartment attached to the owner's home, surrounded by landscaped grounds with sitting-out areas. The Wooldale Arms lies within a mile, and Holmfirth—a market town known for its independent shops, restaurants and live music venue—is minutes away by car.
Inside, the annexe has a living and dining room with Freeview TV, DVD player and an open fire, plus a sofa bed as well as a separate double bedroom. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking, with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave and dishwasher. Bathroom has a bath with shower over. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included; fuel for the fire too. There is private parking for one car, and one small dog is welcome. The property does have several steps internally, and there is a pond in the grounds.
This is walking and cycling country. The Holme Moss climb—a famous Tour de France testing ground—lies about 15 minutes' drive away. The Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Wentworth Castle and the Hepworth Gallery are all reachable within half an hour, and the Peak District extends further south. Families or couples wanting a base for exploring the upland routes and nearby attractions will find everything essentials covered.
