Really good walks with well laid paths and helpful signage, for a thoroughly enjoyable walk. The parking was reasonable, there was a cafe, toilets and a play park for kids. For those who are a bit more adventurous on the day, there was a 'Go Ape' which looked great fun.

Gorgeous forest and arboretum - plenty of well sign posted trails for walkers, runners, cyclists and horse riders. The trails are easy to follow and walk on, with some side trails for those who want to peel off from the main paths. Parking is expensive - hence the 4 stars not 5.

A fabulous area for a walk, a run, a bike ride or out on the horse - multiple tracks and trails with lots of different signposts that give you an idea of how far the walk will be. There are multiple car parks are but they get full pretty quickly. There is a cafe, toilets and Go Ape at the big visitor centre area. The forest itself is full of wildlife, plenty of deer, birds, butterflies, etc. No matter what season you go in there is always something to see. I love walking here with the dogs, they love going in the water! Some paths can get very muddy and some are rocky so watch your step, but the big main paths are suitable for prams and wheelchairs. A great place to relax, get a bit of peace and quiet and get back to nature.

Easily the most beautiful forest in the UK, with ancient woodland, attractive spruce and fir plantations overgrown with green moss, an abundance of streams with small cascades and in certain places rather large waterfalls. Abundance of fungi and other wildlife. An extremely nice place, definitely one of my favourite places in the UK
