What visitors say
Karen and I had another fabulous Bank Holiday Weekend at Wyreside, a late booking but managed to squeeze us in. The owners and staff are absolutely incredible and nothing is too hard for them. Huge thanks in particular to Michaela and Sally for being so kind. Hopefully see you all soon. Stuart, Karen and Vinnie the V-Dub 💕💙🚐

Overall, a really lovely campsite with a couple of things that could be improved. The young lady on reception is consistently friendly, welcoming, and a real credit to the site. We visited for a joint birthday weekend for my partner and a Father’s Day trip for my dad. On the Saturday, my father in law came down for a short visit to say hello. Due to a band playing, he did not hear staff trying to get his attention, which led to a misunderstanding. What followed was a very loud and public confrontation from an older member of staff, which felt unnecessary and uncomfortable, particularly as it was directed at an elderly visitor who had simply popped in for a few hours. We were not aware of the no day visitors policy and, had we known, we would have happily met him elsewhere. Once this was explained, the situation was resolved and he was allowed on site for a small fee. Aside from that, our stays here have always been enjoyable and we would happily return. It is just a shame that one interaction stood out so strongly. The site itself is clean and well kept, with spacious pitches and pleasant fishing lakes that are great for a walk or for fishing. The only small improvement would be ensuring toilet paper is consistently stocked in the facilities. It is slightly more expensive than some other sites, but overall still worth it.

We had a great 48hrs fishing foxes lake. The complex is very well maintained with all amenities including a shop and pub on site. The carp are stunning, very healthy and you can see they're going to be huge in the future. Food is available to be delivered to you peg, we didn't do this but our neighbour did and he was very happy. The tackle shop is a little expensive but still very handy if you need to grab any tackle or bait for any reason. We will definitely be going back to fish 👍
