Esholt Caravan Park

Village-set touring park on the Leeds and Bradford border, nine miles from Leeds

About Esholt Caravan Park

Esholt Caravan Park occupies a surprisingly peaceful spot in the village made famous as Emmerdale's original filming location, straddling the Leeds–Bradford border in the Aire Valley. Run as part of the wider Esholt Sports and Social Club, it offers level grass pitches with electric hook-up for tourers, motorhomes and tents, plus a modern amenity block and an on-site clubhouse bar that gives the place a genuinely sociable edge. The village setting means you can walk to a couple of local pubs and a shop, while gentle riverside trails along the Aire provide an easy escape into the surrounding countryside.

Its location works well for exploring both cities—Saltaire's UNESCO mill village is a short drive, and the southern Dales are within day-trip range. The park's no-frills, straightforward approach suits both weekend breaks and longer stays, though some visitors note that facilities can feel a touch tired in places. Open April to October, it's a quieter, more characterful alternative to the busier sites on Leeds's main arterial routes.

Brilliant little park in a beautiful spot, just down the road from Emmerdales Woolpack pub. Showers and toilets were clean, just a little small - only 2 toilets, 2 showers and 1 washing up sink. There was also a ladies only block but not sure how many toilets/showers were in there. This is a great park if you're into your cricket with a cricket club right next door- meaning you also have a access to a really nice clubhouse, they also serve up a lovely breakfast in the morning if you don't fancy cooking. Would definitely come back again.

Lovely setting with well-kept grounds and great entertainment watching the football and cricket games on site. Site management were friendly and helpful, on arrival. Unfortunately, the facilities really need an upgrade and more frequent cleaning; rubbish in the shower block hasn’t moved in days. Quiet hours from 10 pm aren’t enforced and we were kept awake late, by noisy neighbours. Although advertised as dog-friendly, dogs are restricted and not allowed on the fields if matches are due on in the day, which makes exercising them stressful. A shame, as the location is fantastic and it could be a brilliant site with better management.

Serves as a good based for the area in a quite location. The facilities were clean of limited in number, the pitches were off a reasonable size and the magnet and staff were friendly and helpful.

Covers all the basics well, good value for money. We happened to coincide with cricket and football matches so soon had company - fortunately, everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was good.
