About Tyre Farm

Ready for weekend breaks and nights under the stars on an adults-only Staffordshire hideaway? Staying at Tyre Farm sees you 15 minutes' drive from Alton Towers and the Peak District National Park; wherever you find yourself on this tiny working smallholding there are spectacular views across open countryside to wild moorland and the landmark Winkhill.

Logs and disposable barbecues are available for a small cost on request. Pick up other bits and pieces for your meals from the supermarkets in Leek (15 minutes), or head to pubs and restaurants if outdoor cooking isn't your forté; there are quite a few options within 20 minutes of the site. Facilities include showers, toilet block, washing-up area and a communal fridge.

As the pitches are on a working smallholding, dogs should be kept on leads at all times.

Perfect little site, just what we wanted. Only five pitches with water and electric overlooking the hills and what a breath of fresh air this little site is. It was so quiet and peaceful. It's just what we needed. Also has a couple of Shetland ponies in a field, chickens and ducks, little tiny farm between leek and Ashbourne. The owners made us feel very welcome. No stupid restrictions like some of these campsites do. Come and go as you want and set up how you want. We loved it and certainly will be returning. X

Lovely site with flat pitches and great views. Friendly helpful owner. Clean toilet and shower facilities next to the farmhouse. Handy for walks, Alton towers and nearby zoo. Only downsides are the road noise (it didn't bother us though) and frustrated by lack of accessible footpaths from site as the local farmers seem to disrespect the rules about access rights. Great value at £23pn incl ehu and owner couldn't have been more helpful. Recommended

A smashing site ideally located for walks (tons in the area) you won't need to use your car. Also, handy for Alton Towers - although you will need your car for that! Lovely friendly couple (Mandy & Mick) and spotless washroom. Be aware, as you can see from the map its between 2 main roads so there is some road noise.  Having said it didn't keep us awake at night. Mainly, I suppose due to the fact it is single carriageway and traffic flows freely  - no stopping and starting. My suggestion,  take some empty egg boxes. They have free range hens so have an abundance of eggs but a shortage of boxes!
