What visitors say
We had a lovely 11 night stay at TyLlyn during the 2nd summer heatwave. Was great having the lake for us and the dogs to swim in. Some beautiful countryside and scenic drives in the area. The road from Tregaron to Llanwytrd Wells is particularly spectacular with a trip up or down the hairpin bends of 'Devil's Staircase' not to be missed. We found some exceptional spots for wild swimming and also visited the coast. We thought we might have to leave early when some people who'd lied to the site owner about having a roof tent and being 3 people arrived. There was 5 or 6 of them, at least 3 dogs which were all off lead tearing around the site and they had a ground tent which the owner is not allowed to accept under the rules of her CL license. The owner gave them the option of going in her adjacent non-CL field (if dogs on lead) but they wanted electric. They were very rude and threatening to the owner and she did the right thing asking them to leave as I think everyone else would have left had they stayed. The video in their review is carefully edited to not show the real situation. We were pitched close to the road and there is some noise from that but it's quiet at night and not enough to detract from the location. There's not really any proper walking from the site although you can walk dogs around the owners fields and let them swim. A short 10-15 drive does take you up to great forest walks. Can't comment on toilet/shower facilities as we use our own on board. When we booked in Feb it was listed as an adult only site which we prefer. They are now family friendly but no children present on our visit, just quiet campers respecting other guests (apart from the ones who were swiftly asked to leave). All in all a great CL with friendly owner, the sunsets over the lake are amazing.

Stayed on this CL for four nights in March 2026 to test out the new caravan (good job because the fridge failed), we were the only unit. Access is straightforward from an A road with 30mph limit, traffic was light and occasional so not irritating. The owners were extremely helpful and nice. Each pitch has electric and dedicated water. Elsan point is near the stables behind the house. Cost £25/night. The views across the lake are stunning, amazing sunsets, all pitches are southwest facing but there's so much room you could site the unit anyhow you like. No light pollution at night, the milky way was amazing, and never stayed on a site with the sound of so many woodpeckers before. Aberaeron was a really nice coastal town we visited, cheapest fuel is here, the Murco garage on the hill, coastal road out of town. Really enjoyed our stay, wouldn't go anywhere else in the area.

Great campsite lovely views lovely family , there were some issues with rude campers that arrived no control over their dogs and no respect for anyone else , Luckily the owner was quick to ask them to leave , much to the relief of the other guests. Campsites don’t need people like that staying . Love the place

Great location. Next to the lake. Very quiet. Lots of space . However. No hot water and toilets are toi toi style. No electricity on pitch. Bathroom is in the caravan style building next to the main house. No lock in the toilet in there.
