Discover the charming Banbury Museum at Castle Quay Mall, a delightful cultural spot worth exploring. While admission is typically free, don't miss special exhibitions like the captivating JR Tolkien "The Lord of the Rings' we visited this past month of June 2026 and the imaginative Lego coming up in July 2026 displays. Visiting on a weekday offers a more relaxed experience with fewer visitors, though weekends are also quite manageable. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are eager to share fascinating information about the exhibits. Don't forget to browse the charming selection of crafts and artworks created by talented local artists—perfect for unique souvenirs or gifts.

What a fantastic local museum situated in the soulless shopping Mall. One of the galleries traverses the canal. Lots to see & well laid out with lots of information. If you want to find out about Banbury, the local area & it's history this is the place. A great way to spend a couple of hours.
