Scout Campsite in an ancient woodland. Sites are quite separate so it doesn't feel like you are on top of each other. Climbing tower has been recently updated and is quite nice now (2 climbs on auto-belay and 2 abseil spots). We were there in December and it was quite muddy. Didn't use the buildings other than the loos. Update June 2026: Really pretty in the summer, with dappled sunlight through the trees.

I haven't stayed here. I live next door & what I can see & hear from my garden it appears to be a great place for youngsters to camp & enjoy the outdoors and nature.

Excellent facilities, parking, camp grounds, etc... Some of the tent areas are overshadowed with trees so there isn't much solar gain during the day (if that's what you'd prefer), but they have a mixture.

Amanda and the team of volunteers of Hamlet wood created a magical setting for our daughters wedding. With access to the whole site we were able to pitch our Marquee and individual tents for guests. Facilities have been upgraded and no task was too much for them.. having to pinch ourselves that these were volunteers and so dedicated. Thank you all so much and we wish you all the very best x
