The West Barn

The Malvern Hills and the river valley beyond are within easy reach of The West Barn, a converted barn on a private country estate near Upton-upon-Severn. Hanley Castle and the surrounding villages offer shops, pubs and walks; the river itself is close by for boating or towpath exploration. The estate grounds include woodland and open fields, and there is a vineyard on the property.

Three bedrooms and three bathrooms mean families or two couples won't jostle for space. Two bedrooms have zip-and-link super king beds that can split into singles, and both open onto the garden; the third has a four-poster bed and an ensuite with bath and shower. The open-plan living area on the first floor includes a dining room and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, with a dishwasher, electric oven and hob, and a washer-dryer. You have an enclosed garden with patio and BBQ, plus a balcony with seating. Underfloor heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. One dog is welcome at no extra cost.

The property suits families wanting countryside access without being entirely remote. Catering can be arranged in advance if you'd rather someone else handle a special meal. Check-in is from 4pm and checkout at 9:30am.
