Hillcrest Cottage works well for couples after a quiet break, families wanting space to spread out, or two friends sharing. The whole property is yours alone. Two bedrooms—one with a king bed, one with two singles—and two bathrooms mean no queuing in the morning. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi come as standard; the kitchen has everything for cooking proper meals rather than relying on takeaways.

Ground floor holds the kitchen and main bedroom with en-suite. Upstairs is a second bedroom, bathroom, and living room with a woodburner and smart TV. An enclosed garden with patio and furniture sits at the back—good for children to play safely—along with a barbecue if you want to cook outside. Two cars fit in the private parking space. No smoking inside.

The cottage sits on higher ground overlooking Belfast Lough, within a few minutes of Carrickfergus town centre and its castle. The coastline is close by for walks. Check-in is after 4pm and you leave by 10am.

Spent a lovely week in this quiet hideaway! Host was helpful, accomodation was like a home from home. Although it is isolated it's still near enough to visit somewhere different every day, would recommend the ice cream at the Rinka ! Also the Gobbins and Blackhead coastal walk at Whitehead. Easy to get a train into Belfast from Carrickfergus for a day.

We have been going there for a number of years excellent self catering cottage with all the facilities you would need, five minutes from the village of Eden and 10 minutes to Carrickfergus, with about a twenty minute drive to Belfast on the Antrim coast route as well if you wish to go further, the hosts Bob & Norma are very helpful and there is onsite parking for more than one car overall a great place to base yourself for further travels in Ulster 👍👍👍👍👍

Stayed at the just house down the road from the Hillcrest. Best views around. Make sure you bring your binoculars! On a good day you can see the mountains of Morne
