About The New Lowndes Arms
Milton Keynes' High Street is home to The New Lowndes Arms, a pub-hotel that trades on old-fashioned comfort rather than city-centre polish. It's a handy base for exploring the town, with attractions and transport links close by, and free on-site parking that guests find refreshingly straightforward.
Rooms are en-suite and family options are available, each with drinks provided and free WiFi, while 24-hour reception means arrival times are flexible. Downstairs, the restaurant and bar are the heart of the place, serving Sunday roasts with vegetarian and vegan choices alongside stone-baked pizzas, all in a cosy setting warmed by a real log fire. There's a garden and outdoor seating for milder days, and breakfast is included to set guests up for the day ahead.
Staff are consistently described as friendly and attentive, adding to the pub's welcoming, traditional character. Beyond the doors, guests will find other pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby, plus a golf course for those wanting to fill an afternoon. It's a straightforward, comfortable choice for anyone wanting a proper pub stay in the middle of Milton Keynes.

What guests say
We visited Lowndes Arms for a Mother’s Day meal and, as expected, it was very busy. The place was full, but we were still able to get seated across two tables, which we appreciated given the rush. The pub itself has that traditional, old-style charm—cosy and a bit tight on space—but it adds to the atmosphere. It definitely feels like a spot that’s popular with locals, which is always a good sign. We ordered Sunday roasts for the group along with a chicken burger. While the food was decent, the roast wasn’t quite what we were expecting, which is why I’d rate it slightly lower overall. It wasn’t bad, just didn’t fully hit the mark compared to what we had in mind. On the plus side, the service was great—staff were friendly, polite, and handled the busy environment well. Overall, a nice local pub experience with good service, but the roast could be improved a bit.

A Family run country pub with oodles of charm. One of the best Sunday lunches that I have had in a long time. Proper heavy homemade Yorkshire pudding coupled with delicious gravy and crispy roast potatoes. And if you still have the room I had delicious homemade apple crumble and cream to follow.

Cannot fault this family run pub/restaurant, nothing is too much trouble for their customers. Just returned from having the most amazing Sunday roast. I’ve never had crispy roasted potatoes in a restaurant before, these were just like from home! This will definitely be a regular for us from now on!

Food really well packed and presented & of course most importantly it tastes fantastic, a real home cooked new year's dinner only cooked by them. If you want to get behind a small family owned pub book yourself a tasty takeaway in 2022
