About Wye Tipi Camping
Wye Tipi Camping offers a lovely riverside meadow setting just a ten-minute stroll from Monmouth town centre, with the River Wye on its doorstep and easy access from the A40. The site specialises in groups, arranging handmade traditional tipis and bell tents in sociable circles around central campfire areas equipped with rustic benches, picnic tables and canvas shelters. Inside you'll find sleeping mats, yoga chairs and firepits, while purpose-built shower and toilet blocks sit a short walk away.
The owners can arrange gas barbecue hire or deliver all the kit you need for a riverside cook-up, including locally sourced meat from the butcher and breakfast or dinner service if you'd rather not self-cater. Their sister outdoor-activity company runs guided canoe and kayak trips, mountain biking, raft building, climbing, archery and gentler pursuits like basket weaving and pottery. Several pubs and restaurants lie within walking distance, though the peaceful meadow setting and spectacular Wye Valley scenery might tempt you to stay put.

What visitors say
Just spent the weekend here for a stag do, we went with the comfort tipis, BBQ, and the canoe trip with a pub lunch. It was absolutely fantastic and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. The tipis were spacious and comfortable for our group of 6, and the toilet/shower blocks were clean and private. The BBQ food was delicious and the canoe trip was a real highlight, what a beautiful part of the country. A huge thank you to Emrys, who was incredibly responsive leading up to the trip and very helpful on-site, while still giving us the space to relax and enjoy the weekend. We had a brilliant time and hope to be back in the future. You’ve got something special going on here!

This is a beautiful spot to stay. Near the river and lovely convenient distance to town and a gentle walk along the banks of the River Wye. The Tipi Meadow is well appointed with services and fabulously set up for a very comfortable stay. Our host did everything to make a welcoming space for us all. We have returned now with different groups on 4 occasions.

I organized my mate's Stag here last weekend and it was brilliant. We were a group of 20 and the weekend ran seamlessly - on arrival on the Friday night all the tents were up, comfortable bedding provided and the bbq area set up for us with a cool box of food (the bbq meat is from a local butchers and is really excellent). We spent the first night sat around the fire pit until the early hours. 🔥 On Saturday Emrys came to see us at the site to brief us for the days canoe trip then we walked 5 minutes along the river to the canoe center and hopped into a mini bus up river. We opted for the Huntcham bridge to Monmouth half-day canoe trip which was excellent (c.4 hours) - we stopped at the Old Ferry Inn for lunch and then had a run through the Symonds Yat rapids. 🛶 Saturday night we walked back into town (Old Nags Head is the nearest then into the square for live music at the Punch House) 🍻 If you're organizing a group trip I couldn't recommend using Adventure River/Emrys highly enough. We will be back!

I had planned a fairly small stag do & this place looked perfect, happily it was perfect!! We arrived to a mountain of food from the local butchers (we had evening food & breakfast - the breakfast food was enough for both mornings) gas bbq provided & gas topped up for free. Logs to burn & no concerns over being told to turn the music down. The canoeing trip was unreal, a few of the lads were not looking forward to it but Emrys was always on hand, few pints down the river. The stag loved his weekend & that’s down to venue & host.
