The Coastal Loft
Monmouthshire
The Coastal Loft comes fully equipped for self-catering: electricity, bed linen and towels are provided, and the kitchen has an AGA, dishwasher and what you need to cook properly. The living area centres on a wood burner with logs supplied, and outside there's a wood-fired hot tub with a dining and sitting area alongside. The whole property is yours alone, sleeping eight across four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom.
This is a working farm between Monmouth and Abergavenny, sitting on the Offa's Dyke National Trail with the Black Mountains visible to the southeast. The 100 acres and natural swimming pond are yours to use during your stay. The setting is genuinely quiet, though you may hear the occasional tractor passing; the owners live nearby if you need anything. One dog is welcome. The house is old with multiple levels and steps to each bedroom.
The location suits walkers and cyclists, with the trail on the doorstep and the Brecon Beacons close by. Locally produced food and the surrounding scenery are the main draw here rather than tourist attractions. The farm also hosts Beili Glas textile company, makers of traditional Welsh blankets, should that interest you.
