Kilmorey Arms Hotel

As a vegan, eating out can often be disappointing. Many restaurants either have no vegan options or offer a single token dish that feels like an afterthought. The Kilmorey Arms Hotel in Kilkeel has completely changed my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the maître d', who immediately presented me with a dedicated vegan menu and invited me to speak directly with the chef to order whatever I fancied. I was genuinely amazed by the choice. This wasn't a token menu with one or two predictable dishes, but a thoughtfully created selection of imaginative, original meals, several of which I'd never even heard of before. It was clear that real thought, creativity and care had gone into every dish. I wasn't particularly hungry, so I chose the cauliflower tempura starter. It was freshly prepared especially for me, and to my surprise the chef personally brought it to my table. That level of care and personal service was something I'd never experienced before. The dish itself was absolutely outstanding—perfectly crisp, beautifully presented with fresh garnishes, toasted sesame seeds and a delicious chilli dipping sauce. It was generous, bursting with flavour and prepared to an exceptionally high standard. It was those extra little touches and the meticulous attention to detail that made the whole experience feel like dining at a restaurant of the very highest calibre. This chef deserves special recognition, but so do all of the chefs and kitchen staff. On several occasions they have gone out of their way to prepare completely vegan dishes for me, and every one has been exceptional. The freshness of the vegetables, the quality of the ingredients, the originality of the dishes and the attention to detail are second to none. Everything tastes freshly prepared with genuine care, passion and skill. The maître d' and every member of the front-of-house team are equally warm, welcoming and attentive, making every visit a genuine pleasure. I honestly cannot recommend the Kilmorey Arms Hotel highly enough, especially to anyone looking for outstanding vegan food. It's so refreshing to find a restaurant where vegan diners are treated as valued guests rather than an afterthought. The food is fresh, vibrant, inventive and beautifully presented, proving that vegan cuisine can be every bit as exciting and memorable as any other. My sincere thanks to this wonderful chef, the entire team of chefs and kitchen staff, the maître d' and every member of the front-of-house team. You've restored my faith in eating out as a vegan, and I look forward to returning again and again.

Absolutely amazing stay! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, truly making us feel at home. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. The food was delicious and the location was perfect for exploring. loved the overall ambience of the hotel. Highly recommend!"

We visited the restaurant here on two consecutive nights as the food was so good. The staff although mainly young were a credit to the owners and made our visit a very enjoyable experience. It's well worth booking to be sure of a table.

My favourite place to stay and eat! Just had another lovely lunch in the Kilmorey Arms this past Monday 9th March. I finally got to bring my friend who had heard so much about this wonderful place and it certainly did not disappoint. The bar restaurant is lovely....seating really comfortable much appreciated by me who has a bad back. The choice of menus was amazing but we finally settled on roast lamb which my friend said just melted in the mouth with a superb selection of vegetables and I had the panko crumbed haddock...possibly the best fish and chips I have ever tasted. I visited the Kilmorey back in December and had their battered scampi - utterly delicious. The Kilmorey Arms is a venue which consistently delivers on quality, presentation and taste! On Monday past we finished off with Eton Mess and sherry trifle. Absolutely first class. Wonderful attentive staff and for the portion sizes, taste and choice very reasonably priced. It made for a very pleasant day out. I have been lucky enough to stay in the Kilmorey Arms a few times. We spent our silver wedding there last year and the staff could not do enough for us. We left with some wonderful memories. The breakfast in the morning was in a league of its own (the good news is it is also on their lunch menu as 'All Day Brunch'). I think it's fair to say we'll be back.
