About Donnington Valley Hotel And Spa
Donnington Valley Hotel And Spa is a substantial low-rise property spread across 111 rooms on Old Oxford Road just outside Newbury, built with the scale and layout of a resort rather than a townhouse hotel. Its size allows for a wide spread of facilities under one roof, from a restaurant and bar to a spa and indoor swimming pool, making it a place guests can settle into rather than just pass through.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and free WiFi, with family and accessible options available and drinks service to the room. Beyond the bedrooms, guests have use of a gym, sauna, indoor pool and gardens with outdoor seating, plus business services, a lift, porter and concierge support for those wanting a bit more looked after. Breakfast is served on-site, and the hotel also functions as a wedding venue, so its function rooms and grounds are set up for events as well as overnight stays.
The setting is Berkshire countryside on the edge of Newbury, with free on-site parking and an electric vehicle charging point for drivers. Pets are welcome, and the surrounding area offers easy reach of local attractions for those wanting to explore beyond the grounds.
Guests consistently praise this hotel for its spacious and comfortable rooms, along with the delicious food, including excellent breakfast and dinner choices. The friendly and helpful staff and the great value for money are also frequently highlighted by visitors.
Some reviews mention the spa facilities can be poorly maintained.
