About The Trelinda Guest House

Step into a room at The Trelinda Guest House and you'll find a light, contemporary space with an en-suite bathroom, free WiFi and drinks laid on, along with family rooms available for those travelling in a group. It's a straightforward, well-kept base rather than a frills-heavy retreat, run with a personal touch by the family behind it.

Downstairs there's a bar and outdoor seating for a relaxed evening drink, and breakfast is included to set guests up for the day, with packed lunches available for anyone heading out to explore. Reception operates around the clock, luggage storage is on hand for early arrivals or late departures, and free on-site parking makes driving to the coast or countryside easy.

Newquay's beaches are within easy reach, and the surrounding area offers walking and cycling routes, golf, fishing, horse riding and watersports for those wanting to fill their days, with pubs and restaurants nearby for evenings out. It's a practical spot for anyone using Newquay as a springboard for Cornwall.

Booked this for a little staycation. Great hostess very helpful, really nice. Room was lovely and clean, bed was comfy and we got seaviews. Great location all you have to do is walk up a hill (only half way though bonus). Amenities are provided such as towels, coffee, biscuits, soap and shampoo and a fan!!! However no tea bags, but this is okay. Would stay here again!

Rude owner, tight with money, run down, terrible customer service, next to no internet connection, DO NOT RECOMMEND. Firstly I don't understand why you have to pay the full balance before chicken in, half in cash and the rest direct to her account, not credit card? Sasha said to me she wanted half in cash to pay the cleaners? After travelling over 300 miles and parking my car in Trelinda's car park (mike was the only car at that time in the car park) Sasha sent me a text to my mobile asking for me to straighten my car up, I left it at an angle for a very short time to get out luggage out and explained this in my reply text back to her. Obviously this was not a good start to our holidays knowing we were booked in for 10 nights, she was unfriendly, unhelpful and pedantic. Summer 2025 my wife was recovering from a very serious illness earlier that year where she spent 12 months in hospital and a good portion of that time in the critical care unit. I explained all of this to Sasha before booking. So with this in mind at breakfast the first morning, after a very long drive the day before, my wife was not feeling very well and was tired and only requested toast and jam for breakfast. When we were about to leave our table (last people to leave) my wife asked Sasha "is it ok to take a pear to eat later?" The pear was in my wife's hand. Sasha's reply was "I would much sooner you didn't and can you put it back in the fruit bowl because the fruit is for the guests to eat at breakfast while at the table". Baring in mind my wife only had a slice of toast for breakfast. It was an unbelievably unnecessarily and embarrassing reply. The B&B is not Dog Friendly which is bizarre because they have 2 very large dogs that roam around downstairs all over the place, we could smell "dog" when we went to eat breakfast and that was before we found out that they owned dogs. We purposely booked an establishment which WASN'T Dog Friendly because we do not want to pay to stay somewhere that smells of dog. As you walk in for breakfast the fruit (on the right) is mainly melon, if you're lucky and early you might get a few strawberries but these are extremely rare. Kevin does cook a good breakfast, but we were limited to 3 slices of toast. We have stayed in the guesthouse and also the 2 bedroom Chalet, which is located at the end of the car park. Both accomodations are the same, wood chip city, tired decor which requires refurbishment, in the Chalet the toilet flushes for a 10th of a second and then takes half an hour to fill up again, I did explain this to Sasha but nothing was done. There was no latch on the side window so it could not be locked, it would be very easy to break in, the door to the ensuite didn't fit properly, my wife got trapped inside the ensuite many times. The Chalet is a cold, tired and miserable place, in need of desperate refurbishment, the word "cosy" takes on a whole different meaning. The kitchen is a joke. You have to take the toaster into the bedroom as there is no socket or space for it in the kitchen!!! When you use the toaster in the bedroom (it's the only way to use it) the smoke alarm goes off!!! It's just one massive joke but we were not laughing. Terrible internet connection and many times the TV had no service either, it became clear to us not to bother trying to watch any television, again I complained regarding this issue but nothing was done. The place has so many rules, I could not leave my small kids body board in the Chalet, we had to leave it in the car. Sometimes Sasha seems to be friendly but it's just a front and she soon goes back to her natural rude ways. Stay well away from this guesthouse.

Sasha & Kevin, thankyou for a lovely stay, great room, sea view, fab location, on site parking and amazing breakfast, homemade marmalade was the best I've ever tasted, Kevin, you need to start mass producing and selling it as I need that in my life! Weather was glorious. Wonderful weekend with my husband to be 😁 Highly recommend 😊

I stayed here for 4 nights. The room was very clean and tidy. I spent very comfortable nights while I was travelling around Cornwall. The location was so good I travelled everwhere from there. Everything was good but I especially appreciated how hygienic the hotel was. I recommend the hotel and will definitely stay here again.
