High Dougarie Estate - High Dougarie Farmhouse
North Ayrshire
High Dougarie Farmhouse is a detached 1900s farmhouse on the Isle of Arran that comes fully equipped for groups of up to ten. It includes electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi as standard, plus the initial fuel for the wood-burning stove. The kitchen is fitted for proper cooking—induction hob, electric oven, dishwasher and microwave—and there's a separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Parking for six cars sits on site, and one dog is welcome to stay free.
Five bedrooms and two bathrooms are spread across two floors. Downstairs holds three bedrooms: one with a zip-and-link super kingsize bed (convertible to two singles), one with bunks, and one with another zip-and-link super kingsize. The ground floor also has a sitting room with a wood-burner and views, a dining room and bathroom with bath and shower. Upstairs, a super kingsize bedroom and a twin room lead off a shower room. A travel cot and highchair are provided for younger guests.
The farmhouse sits on working land where sheep graze, so any dog must stay on a lead. Arran itself offers walking to Goat Fell, the stone circles at Machrie Moor, Brodick Castle and gardens, local whisky distilleries, and coastal scenery. After a day out exploring, guests return to a self-catering base with room to gather, cook together, and plan the next adventure.
