Island Escape

Island Escape is a ground-floor cottage on the Isle of Cumbrae, steps from the water's edge. You arrive into an open-plan living space with a woodburning stove, dining area and kitchen equipped for proper cooking—oven, dishwasher, microwave and fridge. The bedroom has a kingsize bed and a child's z-bed; the shower room is warm and practical. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included, along with initial logs for the stove. There is an enclosed lawned garden and a bike store.

Millport sits on a sandy bay edged with tropical palms and working moorings. The town centre—shops, cafés, pubs, restaurants—is a hundred yards away. The island attracts migrating birds year-round and has varied coastal flora; the Marine Research Station houses a museum and aquarium. For activity, there is cycling, walking, golf and the National Watersports Centre. One dog is welcome and stays free. No smoking indoors. The grounds have steps and sloping banks.
