What visitors say
Took the 3 Island Tour with the Scottish Seabird Centre and had a fantastic experience. The tour was well organized, and the guide did an excellent job sharing the history of the islands along with interesting facts about the local wildlife and seabirds. The highlight was seeing so many puffins, but we were also lucky enough to spot dolphins and seals during the trip. There were countless other bird species to observe as well, making it a great experience for wildlife lovers and photographers. The scenery was beautiful, the commentary was engaging, and the entire tour was both educational and enjoyable. If you're visiting the area and hoping to see puffins and other wildlife, this tour is absolutely worth it.

We booked an Isle of May tour with the Scottish Seabird Center, but due to the weather it was changed to a Three Islands tour. While we were initially disappointed, the staff handled the situation exceptionally well. The captains and guides clearly prioritized everyone's safety, and you could tell they were genuinely sorry that conditions prevented the original tour from going ahead. They communicated everything clearly, offered several options to make up for the change, and waited until it was safe to head out. Once we were on the water, the experience was fantastic. We saw so many seabirds, and the guides were incredibly knowledgeable, pointing out different species, sharing interesting facts, and making sure everyone had a chance to spot the wildlife. I'm already hoping to come back and book one of the puffin landing tours next time! If you're visiting the area, I highly recommend taking one of their boat tours. The staff truly go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience, even when the weather doesn't cooperate.

Incredible, just incredible offers put together by the Scottish Sea Bird Institute. I did the Bass Rock landing tour, which you do need to book months in advance if you want to sneak into a spot. And make sure to read the website carefully, dress right, and be aware of weather cancelations. The staff was super knowledgeable, lead by researchers with a lot of care for the safety of the birds. The center itself is a great place to take the family. The added live cams on the island that are available online and they play them downstairs on big screens as part of an experience (it is paid). The gift shop is more geared towards kids, with some good finds.

We did a 2 hour ribboat trip with Kevin and Steve. It was fabulous. Gorgeous scenery with loads of birds, puffins and seals. The commentary was really informative. I don't have the best sea legs but popped a seasickness tablet before and no problem at all - also I didn't think it was too rough but it is ths north sea so could do anything. It is very windy so wrap up warm :D
