The Cart Barn

East Lothian's rolling countryside sits within reach of Edinburgh, yet feels properly removed from it. The Cart Barn occupies a converted miller's cottage dating back 250 years, positioned among fields with the River Tyne nearby and Phantassie Doocot and Preston Mill within walking distance. The village itself—half a mile away—has a shop and two pubs, so you're not entirely cut off.

Inside, the cottage holds three bedrooms (one kingsize, one double, one single) and a bathroom upstairs. Downstairs, the kitchen is set up for proper cooking, with an oven, hob and washing machine. The living room has a wood burner, books and a TV for evenings. You get the run of the whole place to yourself, with private parking on site. The patio garden has furniture and a bird table. Electricity, bed linen and towels are all included.

No smoking indoors. Arrive after 4pm, depart by 10am.
