Woolacombe is one of North Devon's most prized stretches of coast—a long sweep of golden sand backed by a working village and framed by the Southwest Coast Path. Sands sits above it all on the second floor of a building right in the heart of things, looking out across the water. The apartment sleeps four across two bedrooms: one with a kingsize bed and en-suite shower, the other with twin beds. A separate bathroom has a spa bath and shower cubicle. The living and dining space opens onto a balcony where the sea view dominates.

The kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering—electric oven, hob, dishwasher and washing machine included. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are all covered. There is parking for one car on site. Note that access involves 31 steps to reach the second floor, and smoking is not permitted.

Woolacombe Beach itself is a short walk away, known for its sand and conditions that draw surfers year-round. The village has cafes, pubs and shops within easy reach. For those who want wider horizons, the coastal path offers walks with views across the cliffs and coves, while Croyde and Ilfracombe are nearby for further exploration.

Saunton Beach truly offers an unparalleled coastal experience; its vast expanse of golden sand stretches for miles, providing breathtaking views and ample space that makes it perfect for long, contemplative walks or simply unwinding by the soothing sea. What truly sets Saunton apart, especially for pet owners, is its unwavering commitment to being a dog-friendly beach all year round.

One of the best beaches I’ve been to in the UK. Sandy and warm with a long shoreline. Perfect for surfing, beach picnics or just to wind down and relax. The parking space is spacious and very easy to access. There’s a beach shop nearby to grab toys for children and/or pets, souvenirs and snacks. Should note that there’s a restaurant there that doesn’t do takeaway unless you order online beforehand!

A great long beach perfect walking the dog. Contactless parking without needing to download an app. Cafe is great, restaurant looks good, but I’ve not actually used it. Nice surf shop as well. Love it here.
