Chestnut Cottage is a converted barn on a small country estate in the hills between Chatsworth and Chesterfield, with ground-floor rooms that open directly onto a south-facing patio and garden. The layout centres on a combined kitchen and dining space, a sitting room with television and DVD player, two bedrooms (one double, one with two singles), and a walk-in shower room. Electricity, bed linen and towels are provided; the kitchen has everything needed to cook properly, including a washer-dryer tucked in alongside the oven and hob.
A pub sits less than a quarter-mile away, and Chesterfield itself is close by for shops and supplies. The location opens onto open grassland with access to walking routes leading to Linacre Reservoirs and nature trails; the moors and their views are three minutes' drive distant. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall are all within easy reach. Dogs stay for free, and there is parking for two cars on site. The cottage does not permit smoking.

We stayed here for 3 nights. It was very peaceful and green. Big field we could walk the dog in. Clean toilets just missing a shower but you cant have everything. Chemical toilet point and fresh drinking water tap. A mile walk up a hill to get to an excellent pub.

Great hideaway location. Good walks from the site. Can recommend the Robin Hood and I'll Lupo for food. Close to Chatsworth and Baslow
