We were a family of 10. Everything was really good for us. Its not the poshest place but perfect for us. Only 1 small problem, the TV was small and low down, it needs a bigger one and put up on the wall. Overall excellent. Will be back.

Rooms were clean with 3 bedrooms having enquires. 1 bedroom is accessible on the ground floor with accessible bathroom. Baths are big which was lovely. Flooring is very creaky upstairs however this added to the character of the property. The fridge and freezer would benefit from being replaced due to broken parts however they do function. The oven doesn't not cook evenly and the hobs smelt burnt when hot even with cleaning prior and after use. Dishwasher didn't seem to clean properly and majority of the crockery required hand washing again after. Lovely large table and 11 chairs with an addition folding table to the side. just enough soft seating for 10 average sized people. Lovely Christmas tree dressed in the open plan living room. Property is on a working farm and some banging was heard at different times throughout the day. WiFi does not function and there is very little mobile signal inside the barn due to the thick stone walls however there was signal outside the barn. Natural Lighting in the barn is limited due to thickness of walls therefore needed lights on throughout majority of time.

We stayed in stable cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our week. We are a party of 5 with 2 dogs and the bedrooms were comfortable the heating and water warm and plentiful and it had everything we needed. An extra armchair in the sitting room would have been nice. Fantastic location too, just plan for travelling to take longer as the area is beautifully undeveloped. We would book again. Garden fairly secure as long as your dogs dont jump.

We booked this cottage a year ago. Therefore, once I saw a few bad reviews recently I was anxious. I contacted cottages.com and was reassured the complaints had been addressed by the owners and there would be no issues for our stay. As you can see from my score this was not the case. I will keep it brief but please avoid this place. It was filthy, unwashed pots in the kitchen, thick dust everywhere, dirty floors, no hand wash provided. The downstairs bedroom was damp and mouldy – it had clearly not been cleaned properly for years – thick mould on the floor and furniture. There were woodlice found in the bed. There are no markings on the oven or instructions, so you had to guess cook, which isn’t ideal when cooking for 10 people. The disabled handrails in the disabled wet room were that rusty if you put any weight on them, they would collapse. You could not turn the light on in the downstairs wet room at night due to the extractor fan sounding like a squealing drill that woke the whole house. The place has massive potential and is the perfect layout for what we wanted but we left early due to the state of the place and have also reported it to environmental health. Refund issued by cottages.com.
