Hungate Cottages - Levisham
North Yorkshire
View on Google MapsPhoto: Hungate Cottages
Levisham sits on the edge of the North York Moors, a landscape of open moorland and wooded valleys that draws walkers and cyclists year-round. The village itself is quiet and rural, though Pickering's market-town amenities—shops, pubs, restaurants, a castle and the heritage railway—are within easy reach. Hungate Cottages occupy a converted barn with a secluded garden, set back from the main road but close enough to village life that a pub is barely a mile away.
The whole property is yours for the duration, sleeping six across three bedrooms (one kingsize with ensuite, two rooms with single beds and access to a separate shower room and bathroom). The ground floor is open-plan, combining kitchen, dining and living space around an open fire; the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, and there's a separate toilet downstairs. Bed linen, towels, WiFi and heating are all included, along with parking on site and a bike store if you need one. One well-behaved pet stays free.
This works well for families or groups wanting a proper base for exploring the Moors, the coast near Scarborough, or historic sites like Rievaulx Abbey and Duncombe Park. The layout gives enough space that everyone isn't always in the same room. No smoking throughout. Children's play area and BBQ facilities are available in the shared garden.

Another great stay at Hungate Cottages. Ideal location for local attractions in Pickering and North Yorkshire. The cottages are clean, comfortable and well equipped. Really well run and organised by Rachel and Richard who always make us feel welcome.

Hungary cottages are something quite special in a beautiful part of Yorkshire. Peaceful apart from birdsong and church bells. Our hosts Rachel and Richard always give us a warm welcome and the cottages are presented beautifully. Nothing is too much trouble. This is our fifth visit and definitely won't be our last.

Such a comfortable and cosy cottage perfectly placed for all that this part of North Yorkshire has to offer. Tucked away in a quiet spot but very close to shops and amenities. Excellent information in the house and a great place to stay with the dog.
