Hungate Cottages - Saltersgate

Hungate Cottages - Saltersgate is a four-bedroom house sleeping up to seven, run as a complete property for your group alone. Families with younger children will find cots, high chairs and stairgates provided; those with a dog can bring one at no extra cost, though the garden is unfenced. A pub lies within a mile. The cottage sits on the edge of Pickering, a market town with a 12th-century castle, museums and a heritage railway running through the moors.

The ground floor holds a living room with an open fire (logs supplied), a kitchen/dining room with a dishwasher and washer-dryer, and a separate toilet. Upstairs are four bedrooms: a kingsize sleigh bed, two single beds, a bunk bed and another single. Two bathrooms serve the property – one with a bath and shower, one with a cubicle shower. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. You can park two cars on site and store bicycles by arrangement.

The Moors National Park is immediate to your door. York lies 26 miles away; the coast, Castle Howard, Rievaulx Abbey and several National Trust properties are all within reach for day trips. No smoking is permitted in the house.
