Tadcaster sits on the edge of York's orbit, close enough for a day exploring the Minster and medieval streets, yet far enough to feel genuinely rural. This converted barn works equally well as a base for walkers tackling the Yorkshire Dales or for a large group wanting somewhere comfortable to gather. The whole property is yours alone, with parking for five cars on site.
Five kingsize bedrooms, each with its own shower room, means no queuing for the bathroom—a genuine luxury for a group. Downstairs, an open-plan living and dining space flows into a properly equipped kitchen with a Range cooker, wine cooler and coffee machine; big windows frame meadow views. Bed linen and towels are provided, heating is underfloor, and the essentials are covered. There's a travel cot and highchair if you need them. A front garden with seating overlooks the fields.
The barn takes ten people comfortably. It suits families, celebrations, friends' weekends, or anyone needing several bedrooms under one roof. No smoking inside.

An Absolute Dream Venue for Couples! As a wedding videographer, I always look forward to working at a venue for the first time and Joanna & Jamie’s recent wedding was truly spectacular. From a filmmaking perspective, this venue is a masterclass in design. The seamless blend of rustic charm and high-end, modern luxury provides endless breathtaking backdrops. The light, the textures, and the overall layout make it an absolute joy to shoot in, allowing us to capture those effortless, cinematic moments naturally. A massive, heartfelt shoutout has to go to Trish, the wedding coordinator. She is an absolute superstar. From a supplier’s point of view, a great coordinator is worth their weight in gold, and Trish handles the day with effortless professionalism, warmth, and flawless organization. She made sure Joanna and Jamie had the best day of their lives, while also ensuring other suppliers were looked after throughout the day. If you are looking for a venue that looks jaw dropping on camera and runs like clockwork behind the scenes, Oakwood Ryther is it. I can't wait to be back! — Nick, NL-Videography

Oakwood at Ryther is an exceptional wedding venue and truly the perfect place to get married. From the moment we arrived, everything felt calm, welcoming, and beautifully organised. The setting is stunning, peaceful, and immaculately cared for, creating an atmosphere that feels both elegant and relaxed throughout the entire day. What makes Oakwood at Ryther so special is the incredible team. Every member of staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to making sure everything ran smoothly. We felt completely supported from start to finish. A very special thank you to Trish and Jess, who were outstanding in every way. Their organisation, attention to detail, and reassuring presence made such a difference and allowed us to fully enjoy every moment without worry. Our wedding day was everything we had hoped for and more. The care, professionalism, and warmth shown by the team made the experience truly unforgettable. We cannot recommend Oakwood at Ryther highly enough. It really was the perfect day. 🤍

My Husband and I got married here this year in June. This venue is absolutely stunning. The team are amazing and supportive from booking the venue, up and including the wedding day. Jess and Trish both looked after us which we are so grateful for and Will too. The accommodation is amazing and the grounds are beautiful. All our guests couldn’t stop giving compliments on the venue and its service. Thank you to the whole team for everything.

There are not enough words I can use to describe how good the Oakwood was as a venue for our wedding in April. From the moment we booked the date, Jess and the team were amazing in supporting us to pull together the day we had always dreamed of. Every part of the venue plays its own starring role. The ceremony barn is incredible and offers a large and spacious area as well as a perfect backdrop for photographs. The accommodation was one of the main things that appealed to us about the Oakwood and it didn't disappoint. Every room is perfectly decorated, there really are no bad rooms, the bridal suite just pipped it though as the nicest :-) The barn for the wedding breakfast took our breath away on the day and ticked all the boxes for what we were looking for. There was so much space for people to mingle together and the balcony area was a real bonus space especially with all the extra seating. So many people said it was "The best wedding they have been to" and I would mainly put that down to the stunning venue that is The Oakwood. If you don't believe me then just go and see Jess and the team and I promise you will fall in love with it as much as we did. Paul & Sophie xx
