A converted barn in open countryside near Lothersdale, Owl Cotes Cottage sits on the edge of walking country. A dedicated footpath runs directly behind the property into the village and towards the wider landscape beyond. Skipton, with its castle and canal, is six miles away; York is within reach by car. The nearest shop is two miles distant, with a pub and restaurant a mile and a half further on.

The property is entirely yours for the stay. Upstairs, the bedroom and ensuite shower room open off an open-plan living space with a smart TV and wood pellet heating. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering. Downstairs is a separate toilet. A patio with summerhouse sits outside, along with parking for one car and a bike store. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. The water supply comes from a borehole. No smoking throughout.

If you want to get away from it all for a few days, this place is ideal. Situated on a very quiet area, good for walkers and convenient to get to places like Haworth and Skipton by car 🚗 . All modern amenities, good parking space and good scenic views around.

Great place. Isolated, but within walking distance of pub, and a short driving distance of local amenities, and a 30 minute drive to some great Dales walks. Good walks on doorstep. Got everything you need really for a relaxed, peaceful break - no WiFi equal escape!!!

I've stayed here twice now as it forms an excellent base for visiting various parts of the north, the Yorkshire Dales in particular. A beautifully quiet spot, surrounded by footpaths (including the Pennine Way) but not far from good routes in all directions. It's actually in Lothersdale and there are nice views up the valley from the house and the garden. For one person or a couple, this is a well-equipped place with a helpful but not intrusive owner close by.
