Seaton Orangery
North Yorkshire
Staithes, a fishing village on the North Yorkshire coast, sits at the heart of one of England's most dramatic stretches of shoreline. Seaton Orangery stands on the edge of the village, part of a larger estate built from the ruins of Seaton Hall, a medieval stronghold with roots reaching back to the 12th century. The current owner has spent two decades restoring the hall with specialist masons and craftsmen, and this four-bedroom cottage is one of several properties created from the original structures.
The layout spreads across two floors. Downstairs, an open-plan living space combines a fitted kitchen with dining and sitting areas, warmed by a feature fireplace with exposed brick. One double bedroom with an en-suite sits on this level too. Upstairs are three further bedrooms: two with a double and single bed each (one of these has its own shower room), and a single bedroom, plus a shared shower room. Altogether the cottage sleeps nine. The essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi—are included. Parking for three cars is available on site, and there's a courtyard with garden furniture for sitting out.
The village itself draws walkers and artists; the surrounding coastline offers both dramatic cliffs and rock pools to explore. Smoking is not permitted inside the property.
