Walking distance from a village pub and positioned on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, Stonecroft puts you near everything worth doing in this part of Yorkshire. Pickering is three miles away with its castle, museum and the heritage railway that runs steam trains through the moors to Whitby. The national park itself has extensive trails through heather moors and ancient woodlands; Dalby Forest offers scenic walks and a treetop adventure course, while Rosedale Abbey and the Hole of Horcum are natural landmarks worth seeking out. The coast is within reach for a day trip.
