Runswick Bay and the Yorkshire Heritage Coast lie within walking distance of Sycamore Cottage, a converted 19th-century farm building in the quiet hamlet of Borrowby. Whitby and Guisborough are each a 20-minute drive away; Scarborough an hour; York an hour and a half. The North York Moors National Park surrounds the property. A pub at nearby Roxby is a 5-minute drive or 15-minute walk, though the cottage itself sits in isolated countryside with no local shops.
The ground-floor layout comprises an open-plan living, dining and kitchen space with a 40-inch TV, a separate king bedroom, a second bedroom with zip-and-link singles, and a shower room with walk-in access. A front terrace overlooks the coast. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are provided. Two cars can park on site. The cottage suits couples or small families; cots, highchairs and other equipment for babies and toddlers can be arranged, as can a shower seat for those with limited mobility. No smoking inside.
