The Retreat

The Retreat is a spacious dormer bungalow in Hunmanby, a quiet village on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, less than three miles from Primrose Valley beach. The property sleeps six across three bedrooms—a kingsize on the ground floor, two singles, and another kingsize upstairs with an ensuite—plus two bathrooms. You have the place to yourself, with parking for three cars on site.

The kitchen is well set up for self-catering: two electric ovens, a gas hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and microwave mean you can cook as simply or ambitiously as you like. There's a dining room, a living room with a multi-fuel burner, and a conservatory overlooking the enclosed garden where you can eat outside or let children play safely. One well-behaved dog stays free. Essentials including heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are covered; there's also a welcome pack and a travel cot and highchair if needed.

Hunmanby sits on walking routes—the Wolds Way and Centenary Way both pass through—and puts you within reach of Filey's award-winning beach, Scarborough, Whitby and the North York Moors. Shops and pubs are within walking distance. The property is no-smoking throughout.
