Driftwood Cottage is set up for guests who want to arrive and start their holiday immediately. The essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi—are all included, along with a cot and highchair if needed. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave and fridge-freezer for preparing meals, while the open-plan living space contains a dining area and Freeview TV. One dog is welcome to stay.

The three bedrooms and two bathrooms spread across a single ground floor level: one double with an ensuite shower, another double, and a third with two single beds. There's a bathroom with both bath and shower cubicle. Four steps lead to the entrance. Outside, you have private parking for two cars and access to a decked area and lawned garden (shared with other properties on-site). Seahouses itself is a working fishing port, and regular boat trips depart to the Farne Islands for birdwatching and seal spotting. The beach at Newton-by-the-Sea is 300 yards away. A pub and restaurant are within half a mile, and the nearby villages of Embleton and Beadnell offer more facilities and their own stretches of sand. The historic market town of Alnwick lies a few miles inland, home to a castle and gardens.

Fantastic stay, I visited here with family for a long weekend and it was nothing short of a lovely time. Great location, lovely pubs, everything within walking distance, highly recommend!!

Lovely cottage in a perfect location but needs a deep clean the flooring downstairs was filthy and in desperate need of a deep clean not just hoovered. Cob webs and fingerprints everywhere. Shower wasn't good either. Apart from that we had a nice stay but take everything with you as only bare essentials are provided.
