About Balinoe Campsite Tiree

Tucked into the sheltered southwest corner of Tiree, Balinoe makes the most of the island's rare trees to offer pitches with actual wind protection—no small feat on Scotland's sunniest and breeziest isle. Views stretch across to Mull and the Treshnish Isles, while the facilities cover the essentials: hot showers, an indoor kitchen and eating area (complete with cooker, microwave, kettle), and complimentary wifi. The site's watersports credentials are the real draw, with qualified instructors on hand to teach windsurfing, kitesurfing, SUP, and surfing in conditions that regularly attract enthusiasts from across Europe.

Tiree's white-sand beaches and turquoise shallows sit minutes away, and the island's famously low rainfall makes wild camping here less of a gamble than much of the Hebrides. Reviewers appreciate the friendly welcome and the shelter those trees provide, though some note facilities can feel a touch basic for the price. Campfires are permitted, dogs welcome, and the remoteness guarantees wildlife encounters and star-filled skies.

Very clean and comfortable campsite in windy Tiree. The kitchen/common area was amazing for people camping on tents when it was cold and windy. Wee bothy was very comfortable and warm. Will who runs the place is also a great guy, very accommodating and helpful. Legend! Note that if you plan on cooking you need to bring your own pots etc. and while the bothies do have proper mattresses you will need bedding, I believe the pods have different types of mattresses so you may need an inflatable as well. Make sure to read the description of each of the accommodation options on the website :) Regardless, lovely campsite and host!

Great campsite, induction of the facilities on arrival. Plumbed toilets and showers. Kitchen with cooker, fridges and freezers available to use. Dining and storage areas. Quiet campsite, respectful guests for the most part. Owner knowledgable and helpful.

Like the island itself, don't expect luxury. Both have an unspoiled natural charm that is so refreshing. The site has everything you need and i grew rather fond of it. I'd definitely go back without hesitation. Lovely in the sunshine, less fun when raining... But that's Tiree for you
