Lochgilphead Caravan Park
Bank Park, Lochgilphead PA31 8NX, UK
Fully serviced touring park overlooking the Crinan Canal in Mid Argyll
About Lochgilphead Caravan Park
Tucked into Bank Park on the edge of Lochgilphead, this caravan and motorhome site occupies a practical spot for exploring Mid Argyll without the coastal bustle of Oban further north. The focus here is squarely on touring comfort: large hard standing pitches come fully serviced with individual tap, drain and electric hookup, while facilities include centrally heated private shower and toilet cubicles rather than communal blocks, a laundrette and dishwashing area. Static holiday homes are also available for those without their own unit. The Crinan Canal runs alongside, its towpath walkable straight from the park, and visitors note the peaceful setting—though some mention the site can feel a little tired in places and that prices run slightly high for what's on offer.
Lochgilphead itself is a working town with shops and a supermarket on Loch Gilp, making it a quieter, more central base than the tourist hubs to the north. Kilmartin Glen's prehistoric monuments lie a short drive away, while the Kintyre peninsula stretches southward—ideal for visitors touring by car across Mid Argyll rather than settling into one walking spot.

What visitors say
The owners of this caravan park are only out to rob honest people of their money. They do not answer their phones or respond to emails. I had to pay a month up front before I arrived and when I left a month later they refused to pay back monies owed. Absolutely daylight robbery. The park itself is not the best. Toilets are out dated. Half the machines in the Landry don’t work. If you can actually get access to one as the people who live locally use the machines.

Beautifully kept park layout very nice, clean toilets and showers all the facilities you need. The staff are very helpful and friendly. There are dog walks around the grounds. Can't comment on rooms as we have a camper van

Great place. Helpful and friendly staff. I attended in a motorhome, but could see the static caravans and they are spacious and immaculate. Facilities are very good and very clean. A well stocked Co-op just around the corner too which is a real bonus. A great place to stop.

Fantastic Caravan Park! Spacious with great amenities, lovely helpful staff & the coolest location ever. The caravan we had was impeccably decorated and so super clean. It has a set of basic kitchen supplies, super comfy sheets/towels/bedding along with a welcoming fireplace. We didn't use the patio, but it looked fabulous! The staff were fantastic, helpful & fun! We will be back for sure! 🌟🌟🏵🏵🏵
