Fabulous stay here at the camp site. There were over 30 of us and it accommodated us easy. Helpful staff and stunning views.

I am the leader of the group who had a booking today until tomorrow. I phoned up 2 weeks ago and was told there was works being done on the bottom but we could camp on the top field next to the toilets and we were the first booking of the year. I was also told there would be alter fires and fire wood for an extra £5. We arrived to nobody there, the gate closed and when I rang… I had to ring 7 times for an answer… I was told ‘I’ll be blatantly honest I forgot you were booked’ Not acceptable to then post on here to one of my scouts that you are closed and the booking wasn’t confirmed. I have confirmation and this was a blatant lie as my entire group of scouts heard us being told that you had forgotten we were booked. Really bad experience for a group of scouts and will be passing the review around the associations.

Awful.....camp ran out of stored water during our scout group visit. Parking is dreadful when dropping off / picking up. Won't be back !

We enjoyed our weekend here very much. The site is in a great spot on Crompton moor, with very nice walks directly accessible from the site. The volunteers were on site for most of the weekend which enabled us to hire a fire pit with wood, at a reasonable price. The toilet facilities are a little dated but are perfectly adequate (I was informed by the friendly volunteers that updating was in the pipeline). Shaw is only a 10 minute drive for shopping and provisions. Overall, a very nice camping experience. Would visit again, for sure.
