My dog and I camped here in my small Doblo Maxi van for three days in June. I loved staying with Michael and Teenie. They found a space for me even though I arrived late and had no booking. I was lucky; the weather on Westray was glorious (it’s not always!) but I could have put up with any weather because the facilities at Chalmersquoy are very good and the site provided all the basics you’d expect and everything extra I needed e.g. washer-drier, heated drying screen, cafetiere, pots and pans, toaster, comfy dining area, clean, warm showers and toilet block, a beautiful outlook, a friendly welcome and very reasonable rates. Michael and Teenie are a cornucopia of local knowledge and Michael’s tip to visit the puffins at Castle O Burrian at 9pm was spot on. At 8.30pm, one puffin sticking its beak out for a puffin peak. At 9pm, Monty Puffin’s Flying Circus. June is the best puffin month though. They’re not always on land. The site is ideally placed for a ten-minute walk to the Pierowall Hotel for dining in or takeaway food AND the part time fish and chip shop, Jack’s, AND the two local stores which sell… everything. Thanks a million, Michael and Teenie. Enjoy, campers! Such kindness and integrity are rare and getting rarer.

We stayed on the campground. The hard standing pitch was reasonably level. Campers have access to cooking facilities within the kitchen area which was very useful. The other building contained the showers, toilets and laundry. All facilities were kept very clean. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. Thanks Michael and Teenie.

First class across all aspects of this B&B, hostel and campsite. The owners couldn't be more helpful and have thought of everything in all aspects of their operation. Highly recommended
