We booked quite late and were very wary as we hadn’t done a great deal of research on the guest house or the location but all was well. Amber House was a great place to stay being really clean, welcoming and providing super breakfasts… A traditional B&B. The owners were really friendly and obliging in so many ways. The location meant that we could mainly leave the car in their good-sized car park and either walk to the bay (5 mins) and/or the station (8 mins), the bus stop for Torquay etc. (4 minutes). Their garden and the honesty bar were superb to use in the evening and some guests even had meals delivered and ate them in the garden although there were places just a few minutes away that had really good food and also live music at times. It is very dog friendly while keeping the main dining room dog free to suit everyone. Because there was no charge for parking and the extra for the dog was so reasonable it saved us a considerable amount compared to where we usually stay. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

The owners of the hotel were very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. We booked through Hotels.com, not realising that this hotel only takes children aged 10+. We have a 1 year old and they still accepted us and provided us with a cot. The room was clean and tidy, the bed was comfy, breakfast was nice and the location is great. You can easily walk to the beach. Would definitely recommend if you’re visiting Paignton.

My wife and I always stay here when possible when coming back to Devon. Very friendly staff and always welcoming. The breakfast is excellent. Very Recommended.

Lovely hotel, lovely owners x great location x breakfast great, nothing was to much trouble and loved our dogs x this is our 3rd time staying at Amber House and will be going again.
